In this guide we explain how you can easily import data from the Maximizer CRM to your Power BI application with the help of Maximizer API. By following these easy steps, you can set up an integration between Maximizer CRM and Power BI and start creating and sharing valuable insights and reports with your team. Note : You need to have a Power BI account as well as Maximizer CRM account to be able to set up the integration. (If you don't have a Power BI account, you can go to powerbi.microsoft.com and sign up for a free account) . Obtain API Access . First you need to get access to the API. For that go to maximizer.readme.io and follow the Authentication instructions on the “External Vendors/ Enterprise” page in the “Get Started” section. . Note: The existing access token has a lifetime of just a few minutes. If you want to try our newly implemented Personal Access Token with a much longer lifetime (30 days), please send request to email@example.com and make sure to include the following details: Full Name, Email address, Organization name, Database alias. . Note : If you have questions, you may want to check out our developer forum.. With the provided information you can use the authentication method to get an access token in the API on the “Authenticate to get a valid token” page under “Authentication” section.. Note : If you need your credential details to authenticate, feel free to contact your administrator or Maximizer support.. Choose the data you want to access in Power BI . Once you’ve got the token, choose the data you want to access in Power BI (i.e., contacts, notes, opportunities, pipelines, tasks, timelines, users, appointments). Let’s assume you want to share a list of companies with your Power BI client. For that visit “Companies” \u003e “Get a paginated list of companies” page in maximizer.readme.io.. Fill out all the required fields. It is important to specify them correctly. When you have filled out the form ensure everything is working correctly buy pressing the “Try it!” button. . To obtain your database alias for Maximizer CRM, you should navigate to the login page of your Maximizer CRM account. Check the URL in your browser address bar, i.e. " https://caw.maximizercrmlive.com/ clientX". The last fragment of the URL is the unique alias of the database related to your account, in our example alias is "clientX". Copy your database alias and use it to connect your Maximizer CRM database to your Power BI account. If you see results, then everything is going smoothly, and you can proceed to your Power BI account but keep the maximizer.readme.io open as it will still be needed. Import Data to Power BI . Go to you Power BI desktop client and select the “Web” option in the “Get data” dropdown menu.. In the opened modal window select “Advanced” option.. Return to maximizer.readme.io and copy the value of the URL in the request.. Paste the URL of the API request from maximizer.readme.io into the "URL parts" field in the opened earlier modal window in Power BI . Note : ensure that copied text doesn’t contain quotes. . As a next step, copy all headers in the API call in maximizer.readme.io. For the list of companies, it is: . “Authorization” header . "database alias” header . “accept” header . Paste the values of the headers from the API request from maximizer.readme.io into the corresponding fields in the opened earlier modal window in Power BI . Note : Once again ensure that pasted values in the header fields don’t contain quotes.. After filling in the form submit it with the “OK” button. . Now just wait a bit until your data is successfully loaded. Power BI will create a new dataset based on the imported data.
