Insights - Data Security
By default, only basic fields are accessible in Insights.
Basic fields in Insights follow ‘Read Access’ permissions set up in Maximizer Web Access.
For example, if only one user (John) has 'Read Access' to opportunity 2, other users (Alice, in the example below) can't see this opportunity. In Insights, as in Web Access, only John sees this record.
User | John | Alice |
'Read Access' to Opportunity 1 | Yes | Yes |
'Read Access' to Opportunity 2 | Yes | No |
Opportunity 1, Revenue $ | 1000 | 1000 |
Opportunity 2, Revenue $ | 200 | - |
Total Team Sales | 1200 | 1000 |
Maximizer Admins can enrich Insights data models with UDFs.
To make User-Defined Fields accessible for Insights, a Web Access admin must have at least 'Read Access' rights to these fields. To hand pick, go to Insights > Settings.
Designers have access to all UDFs added to Insights for the records they are permitted to see.
For example, if John has 'Read or Full Access' to UDF 1 and UDF 2 and Alice only has access to UDF 1, Alice can still see UDF 2 in Insights.
Thus, in WebAccess, Alice can't see UDF 2 value for Opportunity 1, but in Insights she can.
User | John | Alice |
'Read Access' to Opportunity 1 | Yes | Yes |
'Read Access' to Opportunity 2 | Yes | No |
'Read Access' to UDF 1 | Yes | Yes |
'Read Access' to UDF 2 | Yes | No |
UDF 1 value for Opportunity 1 | Yes, visible | Yes, visible |
UDF 1 value for Opportunity 2 | Yes, visible | No, Invisible |
UDF 2 value for Opportunity 1 | Yes, visible | Yes, visible |
UDF 2 value for Opportunity 2 | Yes, visible | No, Invisible |
